Pajamas for Seniors has expanded its program of providing PJs for older residents. With Mother’s Day quickly approaching, they have undertaken “Music, Memories and Mumus” for “female residents of nursing homes and assisted living facilities with a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s and/or related dementia.”
Thanks to a $6,000 grant from Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, they will be able to not only provide a new nightgown or pajama set but also “a music set specific to the taste of each resident (with the help of family and staff and create a play list.”
While music does not require a prescription, it has been known to “reduce anxiety, improve sleep patterns, mood, movement and communications.
