Anyone who thinks a fundraising event is pulled together in a couple of weeks needs a severe talking to. And when it comes to honoring people and organizations, there’s still another challenge in selecting the right ones.

Perhaps that’s why the Association of Fundraising Professionals Greater Dallas Chapter has already kicked off the process of selecting the honorees who will be feted at its Annual National Philanthropy Day Luncheon on Wednesday, December 1.

Greater Dallas Chapter AFP Board President Shawn Wills has made the nominating procedure pretty darn easy. Just go to the Awards Nomination Overview page and check out the hints and requirements for nominations.
You might want to check out the past honorees. It’s a very heady group, and none can be nominated to receive another award in their category.
Here are links to this year’s categories and nomination forms:
- Outstanding Philanthropist
- Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser
- Outstanding Fundraising Executive
- Outstanding Foundation
- Outstanding Corporation
- Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy
While the deadline for nominations is Monday, April 12, and that seems a long way off, it takes some head scratching to pick the right candidate. So start scratching.
