After a more than 70-degree jump from last week’s single-digit temperature, the past two days have been a relief from the Arctic blast. Plumbers and car washes are booming with business. One car wash operator proudly reported that since Saturday, his operation had done more than 5,000 cars. Boy, wouldn’t you hate to see his water bill? But, no. They recycle their water.

But don’t get used to these lovely, sunny days. Change is literally in the wind.

Returning for a second round of topsy-turvy weather just in time for the first week of the Dallas Arboretum’s “Dallas Blooms,” Mother Nature has set North Texas up for a week of showers/thunderstorms starting Thursday.
In addition to rain, some weather guessers are suggesting that another four-letter word might be in the forecast — hail.
Still, we need the rain. So put those freshly washed cars under cover and pull out your bumbershoots and galoshes.
