According to SPCA of Texas Board of Directors Chair Patricia Villareal,
“Tis’ the season to support homeless animals at the SPCA of Texas and make their holiday wishes of finding loving families come true! As this year comes to an end, we are in need of financial donations in order to continue the lifesaving work of rescuing, healing and finding homes for animals in North Texas and beyond. This year, we have continued to care for animals in their greatest times of need, and we have continued to provide much-needed resources to pet owners during this time of crisis and uncertainty.
“There are so many pets that we have been able to rescue, heal and find homes or foster homes for this year, each with individual stories, but one story that really makes us proud is that of Queen. Queen came to us after suffering from a gunshot wound that shattered her spine. She was unable to walk and was in incredible pain.

“Thanks to our donors, we were able to spare no expense for her treatment, prescribing her numerous pain medications, performing specialty surgery and outfitting her with a wheelchair to get her moving again before placing her in a loving foster home. Queen is now thriving in her foster home – she enjoys cruising around with her wheelchair, playing with other dogs and cats and snuggling with her foster mom.
“Stories like hers are only possible with gifts from our donors, and we ask our community to think of the pets in need at the SPCA of Texas when giving this holiday season. Donations can be made online at www.spca.org/give, by phone at 214.461.1828 or by mail to 2400 Lone Star Drive, Dallas, TX 75212.”
