According to Prism Health North Texas Case Manager Supervisor Neacy Turner,
“This year has been tough for all North Texans, especially for children who have had their worlds disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. From confusion about school safety and online learning, the lack of socialization at school and with friends, to economic and other hardships at home as many parents have lost their jobs or childcare options, it hasn’t been a fun year for many of the kids in our community.
“Our team at Prism Health North Texas wants to help provide a little holiday cheer with toys for these children and teens through the 16th Annual Holiday Food and Toy Drives that started Monday, November 9, and will run through Wednesday, December 16. The children receiving the gifts are very appreciative of the gifts they receive. They’re always delighted to come to the Santa Shop at our Community and Client Services Center where they can choose from a huge selection of games, dolls, trucks and electronics. The kids are allowed three gifts of their choice along with additional stocking stuffers. We partner with Bank of America and Cathedral of Hope and individual donors each year to support families in need, particularly those who have been affected by HIV/AIDS as well as COVID-19 and hope to add more members of the community to our ‘Santa’s workshop’ this year.
“Donations of new or gently loved toys for all genders and ages can be dropped off at our Community and Client Services Center at 315 W. Jefferson Blvd, Suite 300, or ordered through the Amazon Wishlist we created with toys we think these children will love this holiday season.”
