Whoa! Talk about a finish. At the stroke of midnight, North Texas Giving Day crossed the finish line with more than $58.8M benefiting 3,242 area nonprofits plus 22,866 folks pledging 685,175 volunteer hours.
While the top five nonprofits jockeyed for the numero uno spot on the Leaderboard, there were some interesting races in other areas. For instance, while The Storehouse of Collin County had a goal of $150,000, it was blasting past that number and finished with $209,906.
To celebrate this amazing accomplishment, please give your email boxes the day off. They’ve been overloaded with requests and probably need some time to recover from the flood of requests.
In the meantime, more than 3,000 nonprofits are snuggling down in their beds with dreams of how they will be able to soldier on thanks to the generosity and compassion of area residents.
Once again, you’ve proved your leadership in helping families, friends and strangers. You won’t be awarded a medal or be honored on stage, but you will enjoy the incredible joy of knowing that you have defined “North Texas philanthropy.”
