According to Texas Health Resources Foundation President Jay McAuley,

To say 2020 has been very different for all of us would be an understatement. Late in the first quarter, all of us began to feel the effects of the global pandemic and life as we knew it drastically changed. At Texas Health Resources, our system quickly shifted to the battle against COVID-19 and how best to care for our patients in this fight.
At Texas Health Resources Foundation, our team found itself in a new way of doing business. To aid our front-line caregivers with resources to support unprecedented needs like food, hotel accommodations and daycare assistance, we created the COVID-19 Response Fund, which our community has stepped up and supported in such a generous way.
During this time, we have seen and heard amazing stories of generous people rising up to help those they’ve never met and of our employees going above and beyond in their care, all serving as a beacon of hope for us during this challenging time. Through long shifts, they work tirelessly for those in need. Recently, one of our Texas Health nurses contracted COVID-19 and then decided to turn a negative into a positive by donating her plasma to help others with the virus. The compassion and care shown by our front-line professionals during this pandemic has been unwavering and nothing short of inspiring.

Your support of our COVID-19 Response Fund helps thousands of employees selflessly serving the community every day with basic needs like shelter, food, and daycare expenses as they respond to the pandemic with courage and professionalism. Your generosity helps our system’s evolving work to ensure the health and well-being of the entire Texas Health community during this fight.
