While countless North Texas nonprofits have been slammed by the loss of fundraising events, the Equest Women’s Auxiliary has trotted ahead in growing its funds through old-fashioned ways.
Despite the cancellation of its annual fashion show/luncheon, Auxiliary President Tiffany Divis has been mustering up memberships. Thanks to adding eight new Lifetime members this year, the Auxiliary now has an all-time high of 100 Lifetime members. Regarding general memberships, Tiffany raised the total from 257 in 2019 to 268 this year.

But Tiffany hasn’t been alone in the fundraising department. The mother-daughter team of Lisa Cooley and Ciara Cooley, who were in charge of the Auxiliary’s style show underwriting, changed horses in mid-stream. They simply rolled up their sleeves and have been reminding folks of the importance of supporting Equest’s mission to “enhance the quality of life for children and adults with diverse needs by partnering with horses to bring hope and healing through equine assisted activities and therapies.” If you have some spare change after Thursday’s North Texas Giving Day, contact Ashley Allen on how you can support the horsey therapists.
