Alas, September is starting to look downright scrawny with events being postponed or going virtual. But folks are fin that online fundraisers are pretty darn easy to get use to. In a lot of cases, they require no mask nor mascara.
As discouraging as the lack of in-person events may seem, it’s all for the better. North Texans are rallying like the Lone Ranger (aka “the masked man”) to put COVID-19 out of business.
Going Virtual
- Turtle Creek Conservancy’s Day At The Races on Saturday, September 5
- Austin Street Center’s 20th Annual Humble Beginnings Luncheon on Friday, September 15
Postponed To A Date TBD
- Klyde Warren Park’s Friends Of Klyde Warren Park Membership Party on Saturday, September 12
Sidenote: While the plight of the North Texas nonprofits during this time is well known with supporters stepping up, consider the trickle down effect for others (i.e., public relations people, printers, servers, valet parkers, stylists, makeup artists, models, florists, production crews, photographers/videographers, musicians, decorators, special event planners and many more) affected by the lack of events. These people may be for-profit, but since March they’ve had the rug pulled out from under them time and time again. If you know of one of them, consider dropping them a note and maybe a gift card.
