2020 Celebrating Women Luncheon Chair Peggy Meyer and Underwriting Chair Jill Tanabaum have just revealed that the 21st annual fundraiser for Baylor Scott And White Dallas Foundation’s fight against breast cancer will be virtual.
According to the ladies, “We have taken the last few months to have thoughtful conversations regarding the safety of our committee, our patrons and those battling breast cancer in North Texas as we determine how to best move forward with Celebrating Women this October. Together, we have decided that we will not be hosting an in-person Celebrating Women luncheon this year.
“Despite the disruption that this pandemic has created in all areas of life, we recognize the mission of Celebrating Women has not change. We remain committed to the fight against breast cancer and are excited to share plans on how we will continue to champion this important cause in October.”
Details for the dates, speakers and program will be revealed in mid-August. Stay tuned.
In the meantime, realize that despite COVID-19 making headlines, one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer over the course of her lifetime. Mammograms are just as important as ever and clinics are taking incredible measures to assure the safeguards for patients and staff. Waiting only gives this deadly disease more time to flourish.
