Dallas Symphony Orchestra Gala Co-Chairs Andy Smith and Paul von Wupperfeld wanted to get the ball rolling before summer hit. Why, they even launched the energy before the spring breaks wiped out the North Texas neighborhoods.
So, on Wednesday, March 4, Andy and Paul hosted the kickoff for the Dallas Symphony Orchestra fundraiser at 3525’s Turtle Room.
While the grand lady of Turtle Creek high rises looked pretty darn spiffy, the marble floor proved to be a bit slippery for arrival in the porte-cochere. One poor valet landed chin first as he tried to race to open a door for the guest.
But once inside the Turtle, it was lovely music provided by a violinist and a cellist and non-stop passing of hors d’oeuvres and a generous open bar with flutes of champagne being passed for guests like Cece Smith and Ford Lacy and Nikki and Crayton Webb .
DSO CEO Kim Noltemy looked right at home despite having attended the Mad Hatter’s Reveal party at 3:00 p.m. and a meeting just past 4 p.m.
The evening was a true celebration for the fall fundraiser despite Honorary Co-Chairs Mary and Rich Templeton not being in attendance.
In the weeks ahead, plans would be revealed in detail for the Saturday, September 12, concert and dinner at the Meyerson. Tickets for the evening are available here!

Good question. The answer is that the reception took place on March 4 before COVID-19 changed event protocol. Thanks for asking.
