Despite the coronavirus really having an impact on North Texans, it’s also stirred up a heck of a lot of creativity. Area nonprofits are coming up with all types of Plan B’s and Plan C’s to adjust to the ever-changing restrictions and safeguards.
For instance, KidneyTexas Inc. was scheduled to have its annual Runway Report Fashion Show and Luncheon with Tootsies fashions on Tuesday, September 22, at Brook Hollow. KidneyTexas President Sandy Secor, Event Chair Sharon Ballew and Honorary Chair Jolie Humphrey realized that due to social distancing the fundraiser was going to have to be reconfigured and came up with a plan with the help of fashion producer Jan Strimple.
Basically it was going to stay the same game plan with two changes. Instead of having the luncheon at Brook Hollow, table hosts would have the lunch held in their homes for the guests, with KidneyTexas providing the meals.
The other change will be the fashion show. It will be produced and filmed earlier in September. Come September 22, the presentation of the fashions willbe streamed online during the lunches.
And if you’d just like to join the festivities in your jammies at home, individual tickets are available here as well as underwriting and sponsorship opportunities!
