Fashionistas are putting together their wardrobes for the summer season. A new accessory-must-have is the mask. Some have a mask to match their outfits. For the more country-western types, it’s denim masks. For the more personalized folks, it’s monogrammed masks. And for the no-frills types, the good old standard blue or white masks will do.
But as the summer temperatures rise, those pesky masks are starting to be a pain. At times they seem like facial saunas. While that might be perfect for one’s facialist to use in pore cleansing, they are the first thing to be ripped off when not needed.
But they are needed for three main reasons.
- They protect you from possibly inhaling COVID-19 from an innocent victim.
- They protect you from unknowingly exposing friends and strangers to coronavirus.
- They show the world that you’re part of the effort to contain the plague that has devastated the community physically, emotionally and economically.
While providing meals and funds to show support for healthcare providers is great and appreciated, the masks help these heroes even more. By adhering to the mask world a second surge may be reduced or perhaps even prevented. And who knows? You just might be saving someone from learning how painful and scary a ventilation experience can be.
