According to Genesis Women’s Shelter And Support CEO Jan Langbein,
As Mother’s Day approached, Genesis Women’s Shelter And Support was scheduled to host a sold-out luncheon at the Hilton Anatole on Friday, May 8 featuring Academy Award-winning actress Nicole Kidman. The annual luncheon serves as our largest fundraiser, enabling Genesis to serve more than 3,700 women and children experiencing domestic violence in our community each year.
On behalf of our team and Luncheon Co-Chair Leigh Anne Haugh, we were thrilled to share that the Genesis Annual Luncheon has been rescheduled for Wednesday, September 2. As a silver lining, we will be moving the event to the Trinity Ballroom at the Hilton Anatole, which will provide an opportunity for even more guests to join us for our conversation with Nicole Kidman. Additional sponsorship opportunities are now available on the Genesis website, with tables starting at $2,500.
Throughout the COVID-19 outbreak, we have witnessed a crisis within a public health crisis as domestic violence continues to plague our community. We know that the most dangerous place for a woman to be is in her own home, and they face an even greater risk being at home with an abusive partner during this time. As a result, we anticipate a significant demand for services at Genesis in the coming months and stand ready to let women and children know there is help and hope.
We hope you will join us on September 2 as we stand together in support of the brave women and children in our community.
