Get Up And Get Doing: Make One Last Clean Sweep For SAWA Fashion Show And Luncheon

May 26, 2020 9:30 AM by Jeanne Prejean

Sometimes there is a ray of sunshine in the darkest of days. In the case of the past months of COVID-19 event reschedules, there was some good news. When the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary Fashion Show And Luncheon was postponed from its spring date to Tuesday, September 15, it provided more time to collect clothes for its runway presentation at the Meyerson and the Chic Boutique.

That means that some of those suits, gowns and slacks that you were holding onto just in case the chilly weather continued are now pretty unnecessary with temperatures in the 80s and 90s, with humidity making ’em feel worse.

Fashion Show And Luncheon Chair Kim Hext is still welcoming your gently experienced items at The Salvation Army Christmas and Disaster Center, 9216 Harry Hines at Shorecrest, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesdays, May 26 and June 2, and Thursdays, May 28 and June 4. Word-to-the-wise: Warn them you’re coming so they can have hangers ready by calling 214.637.8121.

After you drop them off, make sure you have your reservation locked down for the annual Salvation Army DFW fundraiser.
