According to Women’s Council of the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden (WCDABG) President Venise Stuart,
We are deeply saddened by the Coronavirus Pandemic and offer our well wishes to all during this fearful time. In light of the situation, we are redirecting our yearlong hard work to meet our end goal of raising money for A Woman’s Garden and canceling the Mad Hatter’s Tea 2020 The Art of Chic on Thursday, April 16, chaired by Patti Flowers with Robin Carreker as honorary chair.

Attended by about 500 supporters, this fabulous and fun party also gave us the opportunity to enjoy each other’s company. While we cannot attend, we can still come together with a purpose to support our beloved A Woman’s Garden. The endowment for A Woman’s Garden is funded only by the Women’s Council. Funds cover such items as daily maintenance on its features including The Stepped Fountain, Infinity Pool, continued refreshment and replacement of plantings and any other items that come along. Many sponsors and donors have graciously allowed their funds to remain in continued support of the garden, understanding maintenance continues, even in this time of crisis.
In this anxious time of uncertainty and darkness, it is valuable to find the beauty in life, such as nature offers, to keep our spirits up and encourage joy in others. A glorious garden also offers comfort and peace in times of distress. Lifted hearts are healing hearts.
Once the doors open again, we will have a lovely place to go – to meditate, to pray and to give thanks that we have recovered from something that we have never seen in our lifetime. Thanks to everyone for your enthusiastic support of Mad Hatter’s Tea, the hallmark event of the WCDABG for many years. What wonderful times we have shared! Keep these memories alive until we see you at next year’s event and tip toe through the tulips again!
