According to Community Partners of Dallas President/CEO Paige McDaniel,
First, I want to wish all of the MSC readers health and wellness during this chaotic time in our history. Community Partners of Dallas is truly grateful to our friends and donors who funded our Chick Lit Luncheon and despite its cancellation, continued to support the abused and neglected children of Dallas. Our luncheon Co-Chairs Sally Dutter and Beth Thoele are rock stars and they also send their tremendous gratitude to our sponsors and all the Chick Lit Chicks.
While adhering to physical distancing and overcoming shortages and supply chain challenges, Community Partners of Dallas staff members are grateful to be able to continue to provide services to the children and families we serve who are struggling greatly. As more than three quarters of our client population lives on less than $14,000 annually they have been especially hard hit by the shutdown. We’ve seen a rise in requests for rent assistance, and diapers and formula requests are up 84% from this same time last year, so know that your in-kind and cash donations are making a tremendous impact for families meeting their basic but critical human needs. We are updating our most needed supply wish list in real time (https://www.cpdtx.org/emergency-response-needs/) and are so appreciative to all who are helping keep us stocked. Every single donation makes a huge impact right now! We need you more than ever.
I know that Dallas is the most generous community and that we will get through the pandemic and continue to thrive. Community Partners of Dallas has been helping the abused and neglected children of Dallas County for 31 years— COVID-19 will not stop us and will not stop Dallas! Thank you for continuing to care about our kids.
I look forward to big hugs when we are safe and back together.
