This past weekend’s weather couldn’t have been more spectacular. Not too hot, not too cold, no threat of thunderstorm, not a tornado in sight. But there were loads of flowers blooming and lawns being pristinely fixed up.
Alas, Tuesday isn’t looking so great with clouds in the morning and isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon. There are even threats of hail and 50 MPH straight-line winds.
Thanks to the Dallas Arboretum, you can still enjoy the beauty of blooming plants, manicured grounds, water treatments and cherry blossoms galore without leaving your Barcalounger. No, the Arboretum is still in the no-visit zone, but they’re providing virtual tours led by Arboretum VP of Gardens Dave Forehand. There are the Yoshina Cherry Trees, Red Maple Rill, Jonsson Color Garden, Lay Family Garden and Paso de Flores.
And if you’re looking for a new background to impress your friends at your next Zoom get-together, the Arboretum can make that happen by providing backgrounds of the Jonsson Color Garden, Haggar Rose Garden, Delphinium, A Woman’s Garden, Lay Family Garden and Seasonal Color!
BTW, if you and/or your munchkins are in desperate need of something to keep busy, check out the Arboretum’s jigsaw puzzles of scenes from Dallas Blooms, Lay Family Garden, Pecan Parterre, Rose Mary Haggar Rose Garden Round 1 and 2. You can make them as easy or as difficult as you wish.
Hopefully, you’ll soon be able to take a firsthand look at the Arboretum. The flowers are just waiting for your return.
