Join The #WhiteRibbonRally By Dressing Up Your Own Frontyard For Healthcare Workers

Apr 15, 2020 5:30 PM by Jeanne Prejean

Lawn art has taken on an entirely different meaning in recent weeks. Whether it’s chalk messages on sidewalks or homemade signs posted on sticks, the messages are offering hope and support for passersby.

But recently white ribbons have appeared around trees. They’re all a part of WFAA’s #WhiteRibbonRally to “express gratitude and support of Dallas healthcare workers.”

#WhiteRibbonRally at NorthPark Center

Kicking the program off was NorthPark Center. Despite being closed for business during these COVID-19 days, the NorthParkers tied more than 80 ribbons complete with bows around the property’s trees.

Since you’ve been getting tired of watching NetFlix and the dog is wearing its pads down from all the walks, why not join the rally? Who knows? Perhaps as a healthcare provider drives by your home on the way to work at the hospital, they’ll be cheered on seeing a white ribbon hanging around your tree or from your front porch. Or, maybe on the way home after a rough day, your white ribbon will remind them of their importance.

BTW, if you don’t have white ribbon stashed away in your cabinets, you can use anything from towels to T-shirts to rally with white.

Here’s a thought: Haul out those white Christmas lights and bring them back to life. Your neighbors may think you’re a bit ditsy, but you’ll get them talking and maybe even joining the effort to support those on the frontlines.

Quick question: If people want to get ribbons from you, how would they do it?
