According to Texas Health Resources Foundation President Jay McAuley,
As novel coronavirus COVID-19 continues to spread, per CDC guidance, we are unfortunately canceling Little Black Dress scheduled for Friday, May 8. We do not take these actions lightly, but as a nonprofit health system, we must first consider the health and safety of our community.
Our annual Little Black Dress Girls’ Night Out benefits mobile health outreach programs at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Allen and because of the support of our more than 400 guests, our program is able to provide digital screening mammograms and breast diagnostic procedures at no cost to underserved women in the Allen and surrounding communities.
Most sponsors for our event have generously turned their sponsorships in to straight donations. To support our Mobile Health Program for Texas Health Allen, we will continue to fundraise for this vital program through Sponsor a Mammogram, www.texashealth.org/littleblackdress. For $175, you can help make a difference for women in Collin County by providing them this important service at no cost to them.
At Texas Health, as we continue to provide care to our patients, including those with COVID-19, we have created a response fund, located here to aid in the evolving needs of our patients, staff and communities during this health crisis. We remain steadfast in our Mission to improve the health of the people in the communities we serve.
