If dressing up in your finery and strolling with your pooch on Easter Sunday at Turtle Creek Park has become a tradition, you’re gonna be out of luck this year.
Turtle Creek Conservancy President/CEO Gay Donnell Willis has just sent word that this year’s Easter in the Park and Pooch Parade on Sunday, April 12, are canceled.

According to Gay, “This is heartbreaking for those of us who have loving remembrances of these events… Like every venue in the country, we at Turtle Creek Conservancy are monitoring the guidance and directives from local and regional health leadership. Unanimously, the experts are urging cancellation of upcoming events that draw large crowds. Easter in the Park routinely attracts thousands of people from the neighborhood and far beyond.
“Please accept our open invitation to visit the park individually since the season’s beauty is beginning to unfold. The azaleas, Red Bud trees and Turtle Creek will still be a scenic backdrop for pictures.”
