According to Peggy Meyer,
My friends Jen and Ravi Ratan, founders and owners of Double R in Preston Center East and Fort Worth’s Shops at Clearfork, are in the same stressful situation as many local small business owners. During this time of fear and uncertainty, they are no doubt concerned about their bottom line and the future of their company.
That being said, it was certainly refreshing to receive an email today from Double R that was not focused on driving their profits and merchandise, but on an effort their daughters have initiated on behalf of Seniors in our community.
I was not surprised that Kalli Ratan, a sophomore at Ursuline Academy, and her sister Sterling, an 8th grader at Highland Park Middle School, had initiated this effort. We have known the family since our children were classmates at Lamplighter and these girls, now young women, are truly impressive.
I was certainly going to have my own teenagers support this effort—as they now have idle time on their hands. But I also thought it would be great to get the word out to the My Sweet Charity community. This philanthropic group would certainly compound the efforts of the Ratan girls, and what a difference could be made on behalf of isolated Seniors in our community!
