While some spring event planners are taking a wait-and-see stand due to the recent coronavirus, fall fundraisers are moving right ahead in the hope that things will have calmed down. One of those positive groups is Klyde Warren Park‘s team that just announced plans for its annual Park And Palate.
In the past it’s been a two-part food and wine get together with an seated dinner in the evening followed by a daytime food-and-wine festival. That was a lot to squeeze in 48 hours.
Park President Kit Sawers just send word that they’ve divvied the two events up into two separate seasons. Party In The Park will be the seated dinner taking place on Wednesday, October 14, in the Park. Klyde Warren Park’s Food And Wine Festival will taking place in May 2021.
Thanks to the funds raised by the two events, Klyde Warren Park is able to continue its various programs.
According to Kit, “Most of our daily guests are unaware that Klyde Warren Park is a nonprofit that relies completely upon donations, earned revenue and corporate sponsorships to keep it clean, safe and active. Proceeds from “Party In The Park” will allow us to continue to be a catalyst for the ongoing transformation of Dallas, as well as a place to create annual family traditions and help strangers become friends.”.
In addition to Lynn and Allan McBee co-chairing the Party In The Park, Kathryn and Craig Hall will serve at honorary co-chairs.
According to Lynn, “Allan and I had the opportunity to live across from the Park last year, and we saw firsthand that it is a true cross-section of every possible socioeconomic group, generation and cultural background, in addition to being a beautiful landscape connecting uptown and downtown. This kind of city space is crucial, and it is up to our community to help maintain the Park’s pristine and safe environment for generations to come.”
