Dallas native son Drew Brees is a guy every mother would love to have her kid bring home for supper. Instead, the Retina Foundation of the Southwest is bringing the New Orleans Saints Super Bowl-winning quarterback to lunch on Wednesday, March 4, for the 2020 Visionary Luncheon fundraiser.

Set to settle down with Shelley Slater for a chat onstage at the Omni Dallas Hotel, Drew is well-known for his down-to-earth attitude and tales of joining the Saints in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

Event Co-Chairs Nancy and Stephen Rogers have arranged to have the entire Nancy and Herbert Hunt family serve as honorary co-chairs. No surprise, given the challenge that Hunt family members have faced regarding age-related macular degeneration. In addition to having about 60% of its patients being infants and children affected by a pediatric eye condition, the Retina Foundation is “an international leader in research and performs groundbreaking clinical trials for patients with age-related macular degeneration (AMD).”
Another luncheon highlight will be the presentation of the Visionary Award to longtime supporters of the Foundation Helen K. and Robert G. McGraw.
