Leave it to those Kappa Kappa Gamma alumanae to literally turn the tables on their own fundraising efforts. Tonight the 2019 Kappa Tablescapes Co-Chairs Anne McPherson, Kim Purnell and Stacey Walker did just that at Margaret Schouse’s home. They broke previous records by netting (that’s netting, not just raising) $261,382.73 for their two-day fundraising at the Dallas Country Club on Monday, October 14, and Tuesday, October 15.
While the ladies with the keys were thrilled over the haul, there were even happier folks. They were the beneficiaries including Austin Street Center, Design Connect Create, Family Gateway, For The Nations Refugee Outreach, The Magdalen House, Our Friends Place, Scholarshot and Wesley Rankin Community Center that receive a total of $158,954.
While the group usually gives 10% of Tablescape to the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation, Stacey reported that “This year we are able to give that foundation an even larger gift and designate it for harm prevention programs and scholarships for Texas Kappa chapters.”
No sooner had they handed out the checks then they reported that the Kappas are already planning to reveal a surprise associated with the upcoming Tablescapes 25th anniversary.
