According to Emergency Room Reimagination at Children’s Medical Center Dallas Co-Chairs Katy Miller and Diane Scovell,
“When the Emergency Room at Children’s Medical Center Dallas opened five decades ago, the population in North Texas tipped half-a-million people. Today, more than 7 million people call North Texas home.
“That’s why we have signed our names onto helping our friends at Children’s Health℠ completely overhaul their ER – one of the country’s busiest pediatric ERs and the only pediatric Level 1 Trauma Center in North Texas.
“As a private, non-for-profit pediatric health system, Children’s Health depends on the community’s support to make life better for children. With a $30 million fundraising goal, your support is crucial to helping the doctors and nurses at Children’s Health fulfill their mission and help as many families as possible.
“In October, Children’s Health opened the first phase of the new ER that included a brand-new entrance with a convenient circle drive on Medical District Drive; a redesigned family waiting room; and additional patient exam and treatment rooms with increased privacy.
“Although Children’s Health has made significant strides in improving its ER, their work – and our work — isn’t done.
“Phases two and three of the Emergency Room are expected to follow in the next couple years and will include additional patient rooms designed with patient safety and privacy features; state-of-the-art technology to handle any complex care case; and new specialty exam rooms.
“Expanding the Emergency Room’s footprint and capabilities is crucial to help more families and save more lives. Join us at childrens.com/NewER.”
