According to Young Musicians Teaching Artist and Administrator Sandra Rodriguez,
“Music can change the path of a child’s life, and the Dallas Symphony Young Musicians program aims to do just that for hundreds of students with every pluck of a string on a violin and note played on a trumpet. This new education program in Southern Dallas has provided hundreds of instruments to students, donated through instrument drives held around Dallas, and has successfully enrolled almost 300 children in music lessons and after-school music classes. The Young Musicians program is completely free of charge – every child enrolled receives a free instrument and free lessons.
“As a Young Musicians teacher and administrator, I have had the privilege of watching this program transform over the last year, due in large part to support and donations from community members like you! This holiday season, consider giving a student in Southern Dallas the gift of music by donating to the Young Musicians program. By giving $250, you will provide one instrument to a child. By giving $1,300, you will provide one student with an instrument and a year of lessons. We hope you will consider making this a part of your gift giving tradition this year!”
