Poor Turtle Creek Park has been through more name changes than a coquettish Texas divorcee. With the acreage zig-zagging from Lee Park to Oak Lawn Park and now finally happily branded as Turtle Creek Park, Park President/CEO Gay Donnell Willis has been swapping out stationery, signage and website names.
But what hasn’t changed is the annual Day At The Races (DATR). The fundraiser for the Turtle Creek Conservancy will return to Arlington Hall and the surrounding grounds with dapper Dans in seersucker suits and beautiful babes strolling in stilettos on Saturday, May 2, to celebrate the Run For The Roses via big screens.
2020 Co-Chairs Courtney Edwards and Reanae Seth have arranged to have the socializing start at 4 p.m. and to carry on after the race until 7:30 p.m.
Joining Courtney and Reanae are Leigh and Brian Danley, who were the first couple married at the Park’s Allman Pavilion, as DATR Community Chairs.
While it may seem a little too chilly to think about sunhats and bare-shouldered sundresses, it’s never too early to start getting that date on your calendar and thinking about the perfect look for the day.
General admission tickets are $150 each and VIP status can be snapped up for $250. They are available here. Why not get a couple of tickets and give one as a Christmas gift?
