According to dedicated volunteers/Holiday at the Arboretum Co-Chairs Denise and Max Davis,
“This holiday season, we want to invite you to give of your time to volunteer at Holiday at the Arboretum, presented by Reliant. As we’ve added to our holiday offerings, we need even more volunteers to help us with local and out of town visitors.
“The Christmas Village — Volunteers support us as we debut the world premiere of the Pauline and Austin Neuhoff Christmas Village. This attraction features 12 old-world European-style shops and façades that represent a quaint European hamlet along with Santa’s House and a bandstand.
“Volunteers are assigned to one of the shops to greet and interact with guests. They also hand out some sort of sample that is related to their particular house. For example, in the bookstore, they hand out bookmarks. Shifts are available during these hours from November 20 to December 29 (Wednesdays-Sundays 5:30-9 p.m.) and (weekends: Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and 1 p.m.-5 p.m.).
“DeGolyer House — We also need volunteers to serve as Room Angels to greet guests and to monitor the “Christkindlmarket Treasures” exhibit. Each room showcases a collection typically found in European Christmas markets and complements The Christmas Village. Junior League of Dallas members and a private donor have generously loaned their collections for this display. Volunteer shifts are available seven days a week from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., 1 p.m.-5 p.m. and Wednesday nights in December except for Christmas.
“Groups are welcome, and volunteers must be 14 years old and up. Those who volunteer as a group will be given two tickets for daytime admission. To volunteer, visit https://www.dallasarboretum.org/support/volunteer/, email [email protected], or call 214.515.6561. We hope to see you in the garden!”
