After brunette Kimberly Schlegel Whitman’s successful chairing of the 2019 Children’s Cancer Fund gala, the blondes are taking over the 32nd annual Children’s Cancer Fund Gala — “Together We Shine.” Returning to the Hilton Anatole on Friday, April 17, the mega-fundraising evening will be co-chaired by buddies Jamie O’Banion and Holly Pellham Davis with former Cattle Baron’s Co-chairs Jonika Nix and Katy Bock serving as auction co-chairs.

According to Jamie, “After attending this incredible and heartwarming fundraising event for several years, Holly and I have been in awe of the strength of these sweet children fighting a battle they should never have to fight. In fact, we both committed to serve together as co-chairs a year ago! We all have something we can do to fight children’s cancer… we can all contribute, stand up and “shine our light” to make a difference.”

The annual fundraiser that provides funding for pediatric oncology research at Children’s Health and UT Southwestern is a North Texas favorite, with the evening’s highlight being a fashion show featuring children undergoing treatment for cancer at Children’s Medical Center at Dallas in Dillard’s fashions and escorted by area celebrities and heroes.

Holly added, “As co-chairs of the gala, we know that we are about to share in one of the most rewarding experiences of our lives. Jamie and I have been working together in this thing called ‘life’ since we met ten years ago and have felt like sisters from the start. We hope to be a beacon of light for pediatric cancer awareness and inspire others to join this important fight!”
But the entire leadership for the event is not gorgeous. Longtime Honorary Co-Chairs Roger Staubach and Troy Aikman are providing the handsome hero factor.
