2019 Obelisk Awards Co-Chairs Mimi Crume Sterling and Jessica Liu Beasley have just announced the recipients of the Business Council for the Arts’ fundraiser at the Fairmont on Friday, November 15. This year’s collection of honorees include the following:
- Arts Education — The Andrea-Mennen Family Foundation nominated by Chamberlain Performing Arts and the Plano Symphony Orchestra
- Arts Partnership (Large) — American Airlines nominated by The Dallas Opera
- Arts Partnership (Medium) — Emerson nominated by MPAC
- Arts Partnership (Small) — Oversee My IT LLC nominated by the Dallas Black Dance Theatre
- Business Champion of the Arts — Ann and Charles Eisemann nominated by the City of Richardson
- Distinguished Cultural Organization — ArtCenter of Plano nominated by Atmos Energy Corporation
- New Initiative (Large) — PNC Bank nominated by the AT&T Performing Arts Center
- New Initiative (Small) — Dallas Glass Art nominated by Pamela Riddle
- Outstanding Leadership Arts Alumnus — James Mason nominated by Dragonfly Studio Creations
- Visionary Nonprofit Arts Leader — Tammy Meinershagen nominated by the Hall Group
A highlight of the annual fundraiser will be the presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Award to retiring KERA President/CEO Mary Anne Alhadeff, who was nominated by Donna Wilhelm. Previous recipients have included Gail Sachson in 2017 and Brian Shivers in 2014.
