Thanks to nonprofit fundraising, the retailers were in overdrive from Highland Park Village to NorthPark Center on Tuesday, September 10. While high atop HPV Park House was jammed with cocktailers, the KidneyTexas Inc. gals were just a few doors away shopping for a cause at St. John. Further north on Preston Road, The Elisa Project was breaking news as well as holding its annual Esteem: The Fashion Show at Tootsies.
Just a little east on Northwest Highway, the 2019 Partners Card program was being kicked off at NorthPark’s Alexandre Birman. Hardly had The Family Place fundraiser gotten underway before the crowd was on the scene with champagne flutes in one hand as they signed up for their Card.

Greeting one and all were the trio co-chairs — Rachel Michell, Nina Sachse and Stephanie Seay — and The Family Place CEO Paige Flink. When told that The Grape had just announced it was closing in October, Paige piped up that she already had reservations for the Thursday, October 10, final supper.
Others in attendance were Courtney Underwood with her Maltese/Yorkie pooch Brooks, Carol Seay (aka Stephanie’s mom-in-law) just back from a jaunt to St. Tropez and Toulon and NorthPark Ambassador/Partners Card Honorary Chair Robert Weatherly. Trivia note: Dallas Cowboys First Lady Gene Jones served as the first honorary chair in 1993 when the Partners Card launched off what would become The Family Place’s signature fundraising event.
According to sources, the collection of stores participating in the shop-athon from Friday, October 25, to Sunday, November 3, is a combination of old timers and newbies.
