According to Humane Society of Dallas County staffer Chris Fickling,
This September 19th the Humane Society of Dallas County is looking forward to our continued partnership with the North Texas Giving Day event to draw an even greater awareness to the efforts the shelter makes throughout the Dallas Metroplex.

As a small non-profit animal shelter in Dallas, and the only no-kill in the city, the Humane Society of Dallas has been extremely fortunate and excited to be involved in North Texas Giving Day because of the impact we’ve seen since our initial participation.
Since the Humane Society of Dallas County is a non-profit, it is entirely dependent on the continued financial support of the community through donations. Being a part of North Texas Giving Day has generated such a positive impact on, not only monetary support for our shelter, which is vital for the shelter, but on community involvement in areas of volunteering as well. We’ve received a number of individuals who are willing to donate their time to the shelter, which is essential to helping at off-site events to showcase our animals. Plus, as a small staff whose focus is on critical care and maintenance, their dedication ensures our animals receive individualized and personalized attention.

Since we do strive to give every animal who comes to our shelter a home, it has been our great pleasure, since becoming involved in the North Texas Giving Day event, to see so many of our animals find forever homes! Because of this event, not only our easily lovable, but even our animals in need of specialized attention, have found a home for life with families through elevated awareness of our shelter. Participation in North Texas Giving Day has also helped raise, throughout our community, the mission parameters we are striving to teach, which is spay/neutering, the importance of microchipping, and responsible pet ownership.
This September our shelter is once again looking forward to participating in North Texas Giving Day as an opportunity to spread the awareness of our shelter and create opportunities for all the animals in our care.
