During its ten years of holding the Each Moment Matters Luncheon, Presbyterian Communities and Services has only presented its Lifetime Achievement in Philanthropy Award twice — to T. Boone Pickens and The Harold Simmons Foundation. For the 2019 Presbyterian Communities and Services’ Faith Presbyterian Hospice fundraiser, it will be awarded a third time to Marnie and Kern Wildenthal.
Individually and together, “their dedicated philanthropic efforts have had immeasurable impact on the Dallas community” especially in the areas of education, the arts and healthcare.
From UT Southwestern, Children’s Medical Center, Episcopal School of Dallas and Literacy Achieves to stepping in to help The Dallas Opera, Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Dallas Museum of Art, Dallas Business Committee for the Arts, Greater Dallas Chamber of Commerce, Dallas Citizens Council, Dallas Assembly, Friends of WRR and Dallas Center for the Performing Arts, they have been a model for generations to come.
Marnie and Kern will receive their award on Thursday, October 3, at the Hilton Anatole, when the following individuals and organizations will receive a community award: Equest Hooves for Heroes, Jorge Baldor, Jim Farrell, Ruth Fitzgibbons, John Gallagher, Louis Harrell, Sabrina Martinez-Harrison, Chad Houser, Mary Kennedy, Mary Kimbrough, David Krause, Mylinh Luong, Daniel Roby, Rose-Mary Rumbley, Connie Scott and Lillian Bradford Smith.
