After ten years of strutting fashion, Esteem: the Fashion Show took its final bow on Tuesday, September 10, at Tootsies benefiting The Elisa Project. However, as Esteem ended its fashionable fundraising years, the organization arose with a new name Texas Eating Disorders Association (TEDA). Here’s a report from the field:
Mother-daughter Event Co-Chairs Elizabeth Scrivner and Katherine Scrivner and Dana Brown and Brigitte Brown were joined by a sold-out crowd of more than 200 attendees for the 10th annual Esteem Fashion Show on Tuesday, September 10, which benefited Texas Eating Disorders Association (TEDA), formerly The Elisa Project.
Hosted by Tootsies at The Plaza at Preston Center, partygoers arrived and mingled while enjoying signature cocktails courtesy of Kruto Vodka and light bites by Doug Boster Catering. DJ Blake Ward provided a cool vibe as patrons shopped the latest fall fashions. Raffle tickets were also on sale for a chance to win fabulous prizes from KF Designs-Isabella Collection by Kathy Fielder, Sawyer Collection, Harper Hallam Jewelry, Veranda Club & Spa at Hilton Anatole, Robin Jackson Photography, and some of Dallas’ best restaurants.
At the appointed time, attendees gathered upstairs for the evening’s highlight, the Esteem fashion show. As guests took their seats, emcee Jenny Anchondo welcomed everyone to the tenth annual and final Esteem.
Co-chair Elizabeth Scrivner followed and thanked all in attendance for their support of this year’s event. She then unveiled, on behalf of the board of directors, the organization’s new name – Texas Eating Disorders Association (TEDA), formerly The Elisa Project. She shared that while the agency may have a new name, the important work founded by Rick and Leslie McCall in honor of their daughter Elisa McCall will continue with Elisa’s legacy always top of mind.
Co-chair Dana Brown took the microphone to recognize the evening’s many sponsors and in-kind donors, and to remind attendees to purchase their raffle tickets. Scrivner returned to add her gratitude to Esteem founder and producer Rhonda Sargent Chambers of RSC Productions, TEDA Executive Director Kimberly Martinez and her staff, and the entire board of directors. She also recognized the event host committee and junior host committee.
Tootsies store director Nerissa von Helpenstill and sales manager Dustin Holcomb followed to share some of this seasons hottest trends, followed by a runway presentation featuring fall’s must-have looks worn by community models and professional models courtesy of Campbell-Wagner Runway Agency.
Community models included Landry Davis, Cate Hale, Tatum Costolo, Kim Stephens Olusanya, TV and radio personality Claudia Jordan, Vivian Lombardi and granddaughter Stella Daigle, Jazmyn Dorsett, Yvonne Crum and granddaughter Samantha Crum and Kellie Rasberry. Campbell-Wagner Runway Agency models were Tracy Ripson, Samantha Gannon, Francesca Massey, Ava Tiffany and Reagan Reece. All completed their fall looks with make-up by Ryan Chambers, Scarlett DeMoss, Kim Rozell and Gary Walden.
As the show came to a close, Martinez took the stage to recognize Esteem founder Sargent Chambers for her vision for the event and her ongoing dedication to ensure its success for the last ten years, raising more than $115,000 since its inception.
Emcee Anchondo returned for final announcements and encouraged everyone to stay and shop, with a percentage of proceeds benefiting TEDA. As the evening came to a close, each patron received a swag bag, which included a pair of earrings from Harper Hallam Jewelry, Christian Iles hair care products, eyllek skincare body scrub, and a Daniel Mofor gift card.
Event attendees included Stacie Martin, Sonya and Daniel Mofor, Holly Davis, Kate Wagner, Nancy Campbell, Alberto Lombardi, Whitney Kutch, Leslie Roussev, Jane Fergason and Evelyn Costolo.
Esteem proceeds benefit Texas Eating Disorders Association. The event would not be possible without the generosity of the following sponsors: Diva sponsors – Tootsies, Harper Hallam, Tatum Costolo and Evelyn Costolo, KRUTO Vodka, RSC Show Productions, Campbell-Wagner Runway Agency and Trammell Crow Company/The Saphier Family; Runway sponsors – Terry Bentley Hill, Doug Boster Catering, Eating Disorders Solutions, Vivian Lombardi, Christine McKenny of Allie Beth Allman and Associates, Tricia Sims and Think Tank; Model sponsors – Kristi Bare, Kathy Fielder/KF Designs, Cameron Hernholm, Whitney Kutch, Susan McCombs, Kim Stephens Olusanya, Amanda O’Neil, Eleanor Putnam, Timberline Knolls, Lawson Event Rentals and Susan Walker.
