According to The Stewpot Alliance President Emily Turner,

In 2020, The Stewpot will mark its 45th year of service to individuals and families experiencing and at risk of homelessness in Dallas. It is an honor as President of The Stewpot Alliance to support an organization with such a long history of bringing resources and restoration to our neighbors. 2020 is going to be a wonderful year as we continue to raise awareness of this excellent resource.

After a record-breaking attendance at 2019’s annual luncheon fundraiser, we expect Soup’s On! 2020 to be the highest attended luncheon in the event’s 12-year history.

In 2020, we are privileged to welcome Amy Hegi and Libby Hegi as co-chairs for the event. We’re thrilled to have the support and backing of this generous and accomplished family and can’t wait to see what amazing outcomes they will bring to this year’s anniversary luncheon. In addition, the wonderful Ann and John C. Hallam, Sara and Robert Hallam and Fanchon and Howard Hallam will serve as honorary co-chairs.

The Stewpot Alliance’s 12th Annual Soup’s On! Luncheon and Art Show will be held on Thursday, February 20, at the Omni Dallas Hotel.

The annual luncheon, presented by The Stewpot Alliance, benefits The Stewpot, a community ministry of First Presbyterian Church of Dallas. Since 1975, The Stewpot has served as a vital resource to Dallas community members experiencing and at-risk of homelessness. Over the last 45 years their services have evolved to meet the on-going needs of the neighbors they serve, providing counseling and case management, children and youth educational programs, scholarship opportunities, family stabilization programs, meals, access to medical and dental services, as well as therapeutic and vocational activities.

The luncheon will feature Judge Craig Mitchell, founder of the Skid Row Running Club and featured in the documentary “Skid Row Marathon,” as the keynote speaker. Once again, Chef Brian C. Luscher, owner of The Grape will lead a team of Dallas’ finest chefs who will each prepare a signature soup for the event.
