If you’re a Dallas County children’s nonprofit, you’ll want to mark down this date — Thursday, September 5. At 9 a.m., the 2020 Crystal Charity Ball will hold a “brief prospective application orientation” at Communities Foundation of Texas.

And while no one is going to score points for attending, those in attendance will get a better understanding of the process in the selection process and the 2020 leadership, according to 2020 CCB Chair Tucker Enthoven and 2020 CCB Charity Selection Chair Kristina Whitcomb.
Just to get a feel for what to expect, you might want to check the application that will go online on Tuesday, September 3.
BTW, to qualify for consideration, the nonprofit must have the following requirements:
- Serve children in Dallas County
- Have had a 501 (c) 3 designation for at least three years
- Have provided services in Dallas County for at least three years.
After attending the orientation, get your ducks in a row and get your application in by noon on Friday, October 18. Then the CCB committee takes over researching the applicants with the selections made on Thursday, February 6.
What? You think there’s just no way you could possibly be a beneficiary? Just ask Readers 2 Leaders Executive Director Norma Nelson. She thought the same thing last year, but rolled up her team’s sleeves and applied to be a 2019 beneficiary. That won them $750,000 over three years.
Norma Nelson says
We are so incredibly grateful for the support of the Crystal Charity Ball and encourage area nonprofits to apply! The women who assisted us throughout our application cycle were a huge support along the way. We had such a nice time meeting everyone and participating in the bus tour as well. Thanks, Jeanne, for the kind words of support!
