The first black-tie gala of the 2019 fall season is set. The Dallas Symphony Orchestra Gala that is traditionally one of the area’s fashion feasts will take place on Saturday, September 28, at the Meyerson.
This year’s DSO fundraiser will have Barbara and Don Daseke returning to the role of co-chairs with Nancy Bierman in charge of underwriting. Serving as honorary co-chairs will be the Meyerson neighbors Kathryn and Craig Hall of Hall Arts Residences.
Handling the after-party will be Kasie and Axel Ricart.
On stage for the concert will be another North Texas favorite — Grammy Award-winning violinist Joshua Bell. At the helm of the orchestra will be San Francisco’s Resident Conductor Christian Reif.
Sponsoring the evening of music, dining and dancing will be Capital One.
Sponsorships and gala tickets start at $1,250 and can be snatched up by contacting Tab Boyles at 214.871.4045.
Just one of the really great things about this four-parter extravaganza (cocktail reception, seated dinner, concert and after-party) is that if you can’t splurge for the whole kit-and-caboodle, you can just attend the concert and after-party for $199. For an additional $100, you get the upgrade concert and after-party package.
Funds raised from the gala will benefit activities including the new Southern Dallas Residency that “provides free instruments and in-depth music instruction to all interested children in Southern Dallas, starting with students in grades 2-5.”
