Most hostesses would march out to the kitchen, grab the sharpness item and tear after the guest who decided to change the evening’s festivities. Ah, but that was not the case for The Senior Source‘s Sage Society Dinner on Wednesday, May 1, at the Dallas Country Club. The evening’s chair was Debbie Oates, who had arranged for North Texas’ favorite scribe Skip Hollandsworth to talk about his tale about a Jack the Ripper culprit. All was settled and the invitations went out listing the name of the topic.
Whoa! But when Skipper checked out the guest list, he realized it wasn’t going to be vets from the S&S Tearoom days, so he asked Debbie if he could switch the talk to the one about a diamond heist involving Annette Simmons. Debbie thanked him for the offer, but …. well, the rest of the story of the night’s festivities is being finished up.
