Those who run a triathlon often wonder if it’s all worth the effort. North Texans have not only made it this far in the fundraising spring triathlon, they’re still not finished. Despite other obligations like graduations, weddings and just plain weariness, they’re still making time to contribute to those in need.
On the other side of the fundraising fence, there are those who are struggling to get messages out and to squeak the resources and funds for their efforts.
For one, consider after-school efforts that are now transitioning to summer sojourns. For some, it is helping work with kids who might be struggling to make the grade. For others, it might be offering an alternative to hanging around with supposed pals who aren’t going to be so beneficial in the long run. And then, it’s also the organizations that will make up for the lunchtime meals that youngsters and their families have come to rely on during the school year.
Some presentations have been eye-openers; some have been entertaining; some have been snoozers. But all have been based in the hope to create greater awareness of the efforts to make North Texas better.
There are just a few more days until the finish line is crossed by 2019 spring fundraisers. Don’t run out of fuel. Don’t back down. Don’t stop fundraising for those in need. The finish line is just up ahead and there are many people depending upon your patience and generosity.

Thank you for the reminder. There are so many causes that it’s easy to forget it’s about people who need a chance. A chance to learn how to read, a chance to get help with a utility bill, a chance to not be victimized by sex trafficers.
It’s wonderful to have the beautiful luncheons, galas, and other events featured in MSC, but to all you donors and donors-in-waiting, please don’t wait until the next beautiful event to support your favorite non-profit organization. Your money and time does more than provide a meal or safe daycare, it can change the course of a life.
