When Leave A Legacy Dinner Chair Kathi Shuford announced that former first lady Laura Bush would be the keynoter for The Magdalen House fundraiser on Thursday, October 3, she hinted that there would be additional news to come.
Well, that news has arrived. Presented by the Ben E. Keith Company Foundation, the dinner will honor the recipients of The Advocacy Award and The Honorary Award.
The Advocacy Award, which “recognizes individuals that zealously advance awareness of The Magdalen House in the greater community,” will be presented to Nancy and Jack Zogg.
According to The Magdalen House Executive Director Lisa Kroencke, “For more than 20 years, Nancy and Jack Zogg have been integral to furthering the mission of The Magdalen House by referring women and families to our agency in the hopes of helping individuals find recovery, while also guiding businesses and individual donors our way to support our mission.
The David M. Crowley Foundation will receive The Honorary Award, which “recognizes organizations or individuals that have had a significant impact on the growth of The Magdalen House.”
Lisa told how, “Delia Johnson and board members of the Foundation visited The Magdalen House in early 2017 for a site tour that inspired an immediate passion for our mission after seeing first-hand the lives we’ve changed through our services. Since that day, The David M. Crowley Foundation has generously given time and financial influence in the hopes of providing life-saving services to more alcoholic women.”
Thanks to funding from the fundraiser and community support, The Magdalen House is able to “provide no-cost, peer-implemented programming to ensure that alcoholic women have the opportunity to obtain long-term sobriety and quality recovery.” It was “the first and continues to be the only one-of-its-kind in the area to offer a free, two-week, in-house social detox service and comprehensive programming, providing a continuum of care available to all alcoholic women in any stage of her recovery.”
Tables and sponsorships are available here for the dinner at The Hall on Dragon. Individual tickets will go on sale closer to the event.
