Wings just had their Mentors and Allies Awards luncheon on Thursday, May 16, at the Omni Dallas Hotel, honoring Mahisha Dellinger, Sabrina Harrison, Cynt Marshall, Aimbridge Hospitality and Dr. Rochelle Webb. Now, Wings CEO Jennifer Ware has sent word that after leading the organization for the past ten years, she “will be leaving Wings in August to take on a new challenge at a start-up nonprofit here in Dallas.”
Over the years, Jennifer saw the former YWCA of Metropolitan Dallas transition into Wings. As Jennifer put it, “We’ve grown from providing educational programming in homes and partner locations, to deliver a proud array of in-dept financial, career and parenting programs at the Wings Center at Ebby’s Place.”
During the next three months, Jennifer will stay on board to “work alongside the Wings board of directors and leadership team to ensure a smooth transition.”
While Wings Board Member Terrie Hudson heads up a search committee, Wings Chief Strategy Officer Susan Smithson will serve as Interim CEO after Jennifer’s departure.
