It’s a time for honesty. Those marvelous shoes from your coquettish days past are vegging away in your closet waiting for that one day when your feet will shrink. Brutal reality check — that day ain’t gonna happen. There’s no such thing as Spanx for feet and no matter how much weight you swear you’ll lose, your feet are not gonna shrink. And besides, they are a little past tense in your fashion universe.
Take a deep breath. You just handled that blast very well, so here are a couple of thoughts to move on:
Donate those shoes to a shelter or a group providing clothing for those in need like Attitudes and Attire , The Stewpot or Genesis Women’s Shelter. There are folks who don’t give a darn whether the heels are a season or two behind. They would really value them like jewelry as they prepare for a job interview.
Second, make yourself an appointment for a pedicure. Your feet have been with you since someone inked them up and pressed ’em down on your birth certificate. Over the years, they have been your foundation for those glorious days when you tripped the light fantastic and they’ll be with you in the years ahead. They’ve held you up through thick and thin. Friends and spouses have come and gone and yet, those feet have literally stood by under you.
And after that spa time, consider some home treatment like slavering them with lotions and elevating them at times, so they enjoy the high life.
Your feet are so important for your health, but your shoes can make a life-changing difference to someone. So, don’t leave them in the closet. Let them out and about.
