The weather guessers are hinting that Saturday morning might see some possible drizzle in the area. If that’s the case, then Annie of the Arboretum groundhog will probably have an umbrella instead of a shadow when she does her forecast for the upcoming six weeks.
Plans call for Annie to make the call at the Groundhog’s Day Celebration in the Dallas Arboretum’s “A Tasteful Garden” just as the sun rises at 7:22 a.m. Afterward, there will be a hat contest and watching Bill Murray in “Groundhog Day.”
But if the wet prediction dampens your attending Annie’s appearance, take heart. You’ll be able to stay in bed and watch it on WFAA with meteorologist Colleen “New Mom” Coyle broadcasting the results.
And there’s still more good news. Sunday promises to bring cloudy skies and temperatures reaching the 70s. What’s even better is that the Arboretum’s $5 general admission special will be in full swing thru Friday, February 22.
