Grove Of Giving*

Fort Worth’s The Grove at Waterside has been prettied up for the holidays with the help of area nonprofits for its third annual Grove of Giving. At a kick-off party on Tuesday, November 27, area charities (Alzheimer’s Association North Central Texas Chapter, Gill Children’s Services, Kids Who Care, Rutledge Cancer Foundation, Streams & Valleys, Trinity Habitat for Humanity and RiverVue Apartments benefiting Alliance for Children) decorated Christmas trees.

Besides dressing up a tree, they were competing for a sorta Christmas tree beauty contest. The public was invited to vote on their favorite tree from Wednesday, November 28, thru Friday, December 21. The tree receiving the most votes rewards its nonprofit with a $1,000 prize. And because there are no losers when it comes to holidays, “additional prizes are awarded to organizations during the event.”

So, if you find yourself searching for some dolled up Christmas trees, head your wheels to Waterside. And while you’re at it, vote!
