North Texas was starting to suffer from days of being waterlogged. It just seemed like the area was the bull’s eye for rain. And if there’s one thing besides an ice storm that can create traffic havoc, it’s slippery streets and drivers who play bumper cars.
That’s why the 2018 ReuNight kick-off party at Stanley Korshak on Wednesday, October 17, had a bit of a delayed start. Why, for one of the 75 guests to go just five blocks from the CBD area to Korshak at 5:30, it took 20 minutes! Shoot! Maybe those scooters might need a second look.
But jolly on the spot were host/Korshak owner Crawford Brock, the 2018 ReuNight Co-Chairs/in-laws Joyce Goss and Kenny Goss, as well as Dawn Spalding, Emily Maduro, Debra Nelson, Joe Wielebinski, Carol Seay, Jennifer and Coley Clark, Lisa Schnitzer and The Family Place‘s Paige Flink.
While some checked out Hope and Mike Hill’ s Everyday Image embroidery station on the ground level, others, like Kenny, checked out the newest fragrances. And everyone enjoyed the soulful guitar stylings of Booker T. Washington student Camden Lee.
One subject of the night was the tasting earlier in the day at Sassetta for the fundraiser at the Haas Motor Museum on Thursday, November 8. The selection of menu items resulting from the Headington restaurants (Sassetta, Wheelhouse, Americano and CBD Provisions) featured “a lovely array of fresh and exotic food including steak tartare, charred Spanish octopus, bronzino and prime cut filet.”
Another topic was the motorcyle museum itself, the brainchild of Bobby Haas. Seems the 2018 ReuNight bash will be the first big public event at Bobby’s museum. Organizers are hoping the party raises $500,000.
