It appears that the chill has ushered in the feeling of the season. And what perfect timing to put on your sweaters and six-foot scarves to visit Highland Park Village for the Eighth Annual Gingerbread Stroll.
Presented by Allie Beth Allman and Associates, the adorable gingerbread cottages and mansion will be on display from Friday, November 16, to Friday, November 30, at Beretta Gallery, Bird Bakery, Bistro 31, Draper James, Etro, Goop, James Perse, Kiehl’s Since 1851, Leggiadro, Market Highland Park, Robert Talbott, Roberta Roller Rabbit, Royal Blue Grocery, The Tot, Trina Turk and Veronica Beard.
Gingerbread Stroll Founder Christine McKenny has arranged for the following chef builders: pastry chef A Sweet Life’s Leigh Gibson, Bird Bakery team, Charlie’s Burgers and Street Tacos’ pastry chef Winter Lockwood-Frank, Chocolate Secrets’ team including artist Christine Van Pelt and head chocolatier Rocio Estrada, Chocolate Secrets’ team including chocolatier Sirenia Sanchez and director Carolyn Hudec, Hilton Anatole’s pastry chefs Shirley Chavez and Hilda Muirhea, Hotel Crescent Court’s resident gingerbread house expert Julie Price, Hyatt Regency Dallas at Reunion’s pastry chef Saju Meppidayil and executive chef Hermann Hiemeyer, Le Gourmet Baking’s Kristen Schweiger, Omni Dallas Hotel’s pastry chef Kristina Kent, Kristen Schweik, Cade’s Cakes’ pastry chef Sam Cade and Pastry Works’ pastry chef Arielle Sutcliffe.
While the viewing of the houses is free, each will be up for bid with 100% of the proceeds going to Community Partners of Dallas.
According to CPD President/CEO Paige McDaniel, “The Gingerbread Stroll has become a holiday highlight for so many and we are honored that Community Partners of Dallas has been selected as the beneficiary for 2018 and 2019. The funds raised from this event will help support our new facility which opens in 2019, and specifically one of our night response visitation rooms, which provides a warm and loving place for children taken into protective care by Child Protective Services as they await their transition to their safe placement.”
