With The Family Place‘s 2018 ReuNight just hours away, Co-Chairs Joyce Goss and Kenny Goss and Honorary Chair James Dondero are still adding goodies for the live auction including “Echo Chamber” (2018) valued at $12,000 donated by London-based artist Adam Ball.
According to Adam, “I’ve recently worked with laboratories, chemists, and pharmacists to access images I couldn’t otherwise make… Once I’ve finalized the drawing, I start cutting with a surgical scalpel, which is a labor-intensive, slow process. Color is then sprayed in many layers on to the back, and raw pigment and graphite powder are added to the front using muslin and brushes, to gradually add a surface patina to the paper.”
Word has it that they are even going to have a silent auction including less than a handful of items on which guests can bid. The trio is keeping some surprises under wraps until the program gets underway for what “they have up their sleeves.”
Before the live auction gets underway, the fewer than 200 guests will enjoy cocktails in the Haas Moto Museum and Sculpture Gallery’s History Hall, where they can peruse 12 decades of motorcycle history. The crowd will then move to The Race Track for a seated dinner with wine pairings. Following the meal, Heritage Auction’s Mike Sadler will take charge of the live auction with paddles soaring.
