The gleaming, contemporary home of Catherine and Will Rose was the setting tonight of the announcement party for Art Ball 2019, benefiting the Dallas Museum of Art. Catherine, who is president of the DMA’s 2018-2019 board of trustees, welcomed guests including the upcoming ball’s co-chairs: Lindsey Collins and Amanda Shufeldt.
The theme of the 54th annual gala, scheduled to be held on Saturday, April 27, will be “Form & Function: A Celebration of Craftsmanship Throughout the Collection.” The theme, it was explained, will highlight the “artistry of creation” and the sculptural and textural qualities of artists’ materials throughout the DMA’s permanent collection. Todd Fiscus will create the space for the ball, which will include a seated dinner, a luxury live auction and an after-party.
Lindsey is a contemporary art collector and entrepreneur who serves on the boards of Booker T. Washington, CineMarfa and Glasstire.
Amanda is a Dallas philanthropist and a member of the DMA’s board of trustees.
The DMA Art Ball has raised tens of millions of dollars over the past 54 years to support the museum’s mission of engaging and educating the community through art. The DMA says last year’s gala raised $1.3 million in net revenue.
