One of the favorite words in this neck of the woods is “free!” And that’s the sweet gift that the Nasher Sculpture Center is offering Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The occasion is the 15th anniversary of the center that has been the home of the Raymond and Patsy Nasher Collection, “one of the finest collections of modern and contemporary sculpture in the world, featuring more than 300 masterpieces by Calder, de Kooning, di Suvero, Giacometti, Gormley, Hepworth, Kelly, Matisse, Miró, Moore, Picasso, Rodin, Serra, and Shapiro, among others.”
In addition to free admission to the Center, there will all types of activities for the young and old including birthday cupcakes, birthday button-making, a live DJ and music presented by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.
Whether you’re an oldtimer or have never set foot in the Nasher, this is a great opportunity to celebrate the birthday of one of North Texas’ gems. And if you want to share the fun with your friends, you can post on social media by using #Nasher15.
